dbt: New dbt State usage-based pricing + Enterprise feature removed
What happened
Between the Mar 30, 2026 and Jun 30, 2026 captures of Getdbt's pricing page, Pulse recorded 3 changes: Introduced dbt State, a new usage-based add-on ($0.094/billable DATT, 30 days free, billed monthly), replacing the previously-included Operate and Observe feature row; Cost optimization features removed from the Enterprise plan feature list. In detail: Introduced 'dbt State' as a new usage-based add-on ($0.094 per billable Daily Active Target Table, 30 days free for eligible new orgs, billed monthly). Previously 'State-aware orchestration and CI' was an included feature in the plan comparison table; Removed 'Cost optimization features' from the Enterprise plan's included feature list (previously listed between dbt Insights and dbt Mesh); that row is now gone, replaced by this standalone metered product. Pulse files it as a packaging change (new plan, feature removed, new add-on) with an upward direction. Pulse's latest capture (Oct 26, 2026) lists Starter at $100 and dbt State at $0.09 DATT (Daily Active Target Table).
It lands 94 days after Getdbt's previous change, "Getdbt Drops Analyst Seat Option From Enterprise Plan" (Mar 31, 2026). Before that Pulse recorded "Getdbt Renames Enterprise Plan Feature to 'Cost Optimization Features' for Enhanced Clarity and Value" (Jan 10, 2026), "Getdbt Enhances Starter Plan with New API Access Feature" (Q3 2025) and "Getdbt Launches Enterprise+ Plan with Custom Pricing, Unlimited Projects, and Advanced Security Features" (Q2 2025). Getdbt has been tracked since 2024-10-01.
