What changed
Figma added Specs (Beta) to its product lineup. It's listed as available on paid seats, Full, Dev and Collab, and shown among the included products on those plans.
Why it matters
Specs is listed on paid seats only, not on the free Starter plan. Figma's AI agent moved from beta to credit-based charges three days earlier; whether Specs follows a similar path after its beta is not stated on the page. Watch whether Specs keeps the same seat availability once the beta label is removed.
In context
Figma has been unusually active on betas this month: just three days after its AI agent exited beta and started charging AI credits on October 12, it launches Specs straight into beta on Full, Dev and Collab seats. That's Figma's 6th tracked change on this pattern, in a stretch where the rest of the index is mostly moving the other way, Chameleon, Heymarket and Protopie all dropped beta tags on October 12 alone. Figma also keeps touching its seat structure: this is its 7th change tied to seat pricing since its Professional plan rose 25% to $15 per seat in July 2024, against a typical cadence of one change every 68 days. HubSpot is the only company more active on beta labeling across the index in the past 180 days.
