LLM Observability renamed Agent Observability, repriced per-span (Free+Pro)

Between the Mar 30, 2026 and Jun 29, 2026 captures of Datadog's pricing page, Pulse recorded one change: Product renamed from LLM Observability to Agent Observability; billing switched from $8/10K monitored LLM requests/month (min 100K requests/month) to a Free tier ($0, up to 40K LLM spans/month) plus Pro tier ($160/mo annual, $240/mo on-demand for 100K spans, then $3.50-$5.00 per additional 10K spans); new paid retention add-ons (30/60/90-day at $1.50/$3/$4 per 10K spans/month) introduced. In detail: Product renamed 'LLM Observability' -> 'Agent Observability' and pricing model overhauled: replaced single starting tier ($8/10K monitored LLM requests/month, $12 on-demand, min 100K requests/month) with a Free tier ($0, up to 40K LLM spans/month) plus a Pro tier ($160/mo annual, $200/mo month-to-month, $240/mo on-demand for 100K LLM spans, then $3.50-$5.00 per additional 10K spans). New paid data-retention add-ons introduced: 30-day ($1.50/10K spans/mo), 60-day ($3/10K spans/mo), 90-day ($4/10K spans/mo) trace retention. Pulse files it as a packaging change (package change) with a neutral direction. Pulse's latest capture (Sep 28, 2026) lists Pro at $160, 90-Day Retention Add-on at $9, 30-Day Retention Add-on at $6.5 and 60-Day Retention Add-on at $8.

It lands 18 days after Datadog's previous change, "Datadog Llm Observability rebrands to Agent Observability" (Jun 15, 2026). Before that Pulse recorded "Datadog Llm Observability adds tiered overage pricing for LLM spans" (May 18, 2026), "Datadog Llm Observability launches Free tier and $160/mo Pro, ditches per-request" (May 4, 2026) and "Datadog Llm Observability announces new LLM Observability pricing from May 1" (Apr 27, 2026). Datadog has been tracked since 2023-11-14.
