What changed
On Mintlify's pricing page, saved by Pulse on Nov 5, 2026, the Pro plan's "Automations" feature — included at 250 credits per update — was renamed "Autopilot," with no change to its credit cost or which plans carry it. Enterprise separately gained its own new feature, also called "Automations" and priced the same way, that is not available on Pro.
Why it matters
This is a packaging move, not a price change: Mintlify kept the credit cost identical across both features and used the rename to draw a sharper line between what Pro and Enterprise unlock for the same spend. For a product leader weighing a similar seat-tier structure, it's a reminder that you can differentiate tiers by giving a capability a different name and reserving one version for the top plan, without touching the rate card at all.
If you're bundling AI automation or agent features into your own plans, this is a model worth copying when you want Enterprise to feel distinct without a price hike: rename the shared feature on the lower tier, then reintroduce an identically priced, identically metered version as an Enterprise exclusive. Watch whether Mintlify later prices "Automations" and "Autopilot" differently — that would turn this cosmetic split into a real monetization lever.
In context
Pulse has tracked seven credit-and-usage-billing changes from Mintlify since Oct 21, 2024, most recently on Oct 13, 2026, when Mintlify swapped free credits for a 14-day Pro trial with 5,000 credits Oct 13 trial change, 23 days before this one. The "Automations" name has shifted before: Pulse tracked it moving from "Workflows" on the Starter plan into the new $450/mo Pro plan on Jul 6, 2026 Pro plan launch, then recorded its cost set at 250 credits per update when Mintlify disclosed AI credit pricing on Sep 9, 2026 credit costs revealed. Pulse tracked 325 credit-and-usage-billing changes across 224 companies in the last 180 days, and Pika changed this kind of pricing most often among them. The sharper read: Mintlify isn't repricing AI automation here, it's using the rename to draw a cleaner line between what Pro and Enterprise get for the same credits — a tier-differentiation move more than a monetization one.
Common questions
Is this part of a bigger pattern for Mintlify?
Yes. Pulse has tracked 9 pricing-page changes from Mintlify in the last 90 days, averaging about one every 28 days, so this fits that cadence rather than being a one-off.
What should we check before trying something similar?
Look at whether the capability you'd rename already has a naming history of its own: a second rename that quietly re-slots an existing feature by tier tends to draw far less attention than launching or repricing something new would.
